New year, new donation button :-) Thanks a lot to everyone who donates anything or has already donated! This really helps me to finance my studies and to keep the motivation to work on my tools up.

Just wanted to say thanks for putting your time and energy into BTT – it’s made my Mac experience so much more enjoyable and productive.

I’ve gladly donated and would have paid to have this great software.

If you ever decide to take it to the next level and require assistance with marketing, please drop me a line.

    Thanks again.

  2. 2. Kevin Says:

Definitely glad to donate for this software. I use it heavily and I enjoy the constant updates. And bugs are fixed quickly.

  3. 3. nina Says:

BTT is some kind of wonderful. So THANKS! =]

  4. 4. Martin Klein Says:

Glad to donate. Used to work with a kensington turbo trackball (four buttons), so love the use of the corners for commands. On my wishlist would be the possibility to have a user-defined pop-up menu pop up at the location of the cursor (or is it already there and did I miss it ?).
    thanks. Martin

  5. 5. Marcus Says:

It’s about time you started asking for money ;-)

Seriously, if it wasn’t for your software, Apple really couldn’t call their input devices Magic. With BTT, it’s not just a mouse, it’s a hand-held control centre :-)

  6. 6. william ng Says:

    fantastic software,well done !!thanks

  7. 7. Martin Says:

Thay you very much for a very useful tool.
Apple failed to tap the full potential of the MagicMouse.
Only mit BetterTouchTool the MagicMouse is Magic.

I only miss an action for shutdown (shortcout ctrl+eject is not accepted) an a rotation gesture and action(ee. one finger up, second finger down).
    But time will tell… :-)

    Donation is on the way.

  8. 8. Hiroki Says:

Thanks a lot for the very useful tool.
Without BTT, Multi touch devices doesn’t work well.
BTT is really great add-on of MacOSX.

  9. 9. SC Says:

Bought a new MBP13 a few months ago (new mac user) and soon found BTT. This program has made my experience so much better. I cannot imagine using a Mac without all the gestures that I have set up with it. Andreas, thank you so much for creating and updating this software. I believe that Apple has cornered the market on touch gestures and BTT just makes it even better. Thanks.

  10. 10. Rasmus Says:

BetterTouchTool is the best piece of software on my mac, so I’ve made a small donation.

  11. 11. Siegfried Says:

I just wanted to email you, because I couldn’t find any donation info. Problem solved :)

Realy love BetterTouchTool and my Magic Trackpad. Great combo!

  12. 12. Jonny Says:

Just donated. It wasn’t much; I’m a student myself, but I felt I had to donate something. Easily the best application on my mac, I now can’t imagine using a computer without a multitouch trackpad and BTT.

  13. 13. BB Says:

Your popups suck.. welcome to deleteville!

  14. 14. William Sim Says:

just donated not much but hope that could help you work further! i love your app very much!

  15. 15. Farhan Says:

Dude, this app is killer. I am a student too, and will be in debt for a while, but you deserve the donations with your hard work. I promised myself that if you ever asked, I would donate no questions asked :) Once I start making $$$ (it will be a while), I hope to donate more.

You have one of the most useful apps on the mac right now, even more than Quicksilver. I tell everybody I know with a mac to use it. By the way… BTT supports the magic trackpad? Holy crap, I had no idea…!

  16. 16. Nikolay Says:

One of the first free apps I wanted to donate without being asked for. Thank you.

  17. 17. Elton Says:

    Just made a donation.

Man, you’ve made simply the BEST TOOL EVER! :D
    Productivity and customization are amazing.
Bugs quickly fixed, constant updates, …

Hope you can continue this great job for free. ;)

  18. 18. ray Says:

Hi, my university proxy blocks paypal on my mac, but I can use my mobile phone to paypal you, all I need is an email address.

And thanks for the great app

  19. 19. Harry Tran Says:

BTT makes life a lot more easier! I love it. My donation is not a lot but I hope it helps.

  20. 20. Johan Says:

just donated; great work with BTT. I wish you great success.

  21. 21. Emil Says:

Just donated and I’ll surely do that again. You most definitely deserve it! Apple should be embarassed that one student’s donationware does a job so much better than their expensive developer team.

  22. 22. Håkan M Says:

Thanks for a great product, I just donated. But now the “Thanks!” dialogue keeps poping up every few minutes… it was cute the first time, but gets kind of annoying the 10th time! :) please remove?

  23. 23. H. Rosenberg Says:

I just donated, thank you so much for BTT! It is truly a program I wouldn’t want to be without.

  24. 24. Dustin M. Says:

I was going to sell the Magic Mouse that came into my possession, but then I found bettertouchtool, which unlocks the potential of what the touch-mouse can do. It’s too bizarre as to why apple didn’t include these features, but no matter.

    Andreas -
I love your work. Keep it up! I donated and will gladly contribute more in the future with continued updates.
    - Dustin

  25. 25. James B. Says:

Just donated, a small price to pay for such a useful application.
Now I just hope the pop-ups go away :)

  26. 26. jim porter Says:

The page comes up in Chinese!

  27. 27. Mark Says:

Just donated and hoping for the return of 3- and 4-finger clicks on early 2008 MBP ;)
Btw good software, great boost of tackpad efficacy.

  28. 28. Col Says:

Just realised I would probably go nuts without BTT. Euros coming your way :)

  29. 29. Jackson Says:

If you made 2000 in two days, if I were you I’d take the plunge and open it for sale fulltime. The revenue would more than make up for the taxes. If you’re concerned about losing school grants/scholarships, then start a business (or a non-profit), and accept payments or donations through it. Then you could set yourself up as an employee and take a small salary until you graduate, at which point you could pay yourself much more. I would highly advise you speak to a smart accountant.

  30. 30. Andreas Hegenberg Says:

@Jackson, jep I thought about this too (setting up a little business). But currently I don’t have the time to care for that. Next year I won’t have any such limitations anymore and I think I can wait until then. And you are right it’s about grants / scholarships etc ;-)

  31. 31. Ethan Says:

I couldn’t donate much – really it’s measly – but I had to give something for all the work you’ve done. BTT is an extraordinary tool. I used MultiClutch from the beginning, but it was always buggy and unpolished. You’ve done something great with that foundation.

    Thanks!

  32. 32. Jerry Says:

I love this little tool! There are moments, I use it about 10 times every minute! I push my windows into this or that corner, resize em, push them to the other monitor. It is great! Thanks again!

  33. 33. signs Says:

I just got “would you consider to donate s.th.” dialogue for the first time and flatly decided to donate — only to see the drive is closed. I’ll gladly be back next year. Thanks a lot for the app, take care and good speed.

  34. 34. Humberto Says:

Where is the link to donate?

  35. 35. Humberto Says:

Sorry I realize that you removed the donate button, I keep forward to donate in the future =)

  36. 36. Murray Easton Says:

Fantastic program – Would love to pay for it when you are ready. thanks for the great work!

  37. 37. dachdepp Says:

    Neben TotalFinder, mein Lieblingstool.
– Weiter so !!! –

  39. 39. Alex Says:

Thanks for YOUR donation to the MacBook Community :)

  40. 40. Chris Says:

Hi, I just wanted to donate a few bucks, but I will be back next year then ;) Thank you for this great tool.

  41. 41. Conrad Says:

I came to donate, but the button was gone.

This is the greatest piece of software I have ever used. Ever. I cannot think of one other program I use more. After using this with my Multi-Touch Trackpad I find a mouse cumbersome and limited!

Keep it up! I’ll be back to donate when the button comes back online!

  42. 42. Jaimen Says:

You’ve stopped accepting donations?! When the button comes back, I’ll surely give it a press. Thanks for the software, it really changes the way I use my macs. I wouldn’t be even half as productive without it. I’ve actually convinced a few of my friends that they needed to get magic mice/trackpads (one of them even got a new macbook to have the multi-touch trackpad built in) just because of BTT. Those function keys at the tops of keyboards are certainly seeing a lot less action these days!

  43. 43. Kevin Boggs Says:

Me too! I missed my opportunity to donate. Please let me know when it’s up there again. I’m more than happy to donate a few for this great software! Keep up the good work!

  44. 44. Artem Says:

Thank’s a lot for this amazing soft, bro :)
Good Luck & Best Wishes )

  45. 45. Bob Jaffa Says:

I didn’t have time yesterday to make a donation. So I clicked on your donate button this morning to make a donation and saw that you had all you needed at this time. BTT is very good, I use it everyday and will be glad to donate when you say. Thanks for all you do.

  46. 46. Lawrence Fenton Says:

I’ve always felt it was important to recognise and support developers of software, but like you, my friend, felt that some just couldn’t be bothered to support their hard work, but the overwhelming response you’ve received has left me a little less cynical and a lot more hopeful that people out there do care and appreciate such excellent, functional and intuitive software. Thanks for all your fantastic work.

  47. 47. Alessandro Says:

I really would like to make a small donation. Are you sure that there are no other workaround in order to gather a few bucks more?
Thanks, really thanks for your amazing work.
Please find a way to allow the program pop up window comes up again when you accept again donations!

  48. 48. Gooty Says:

Thank you so much for great app.

  49. 49. johnny cash Says:

go fuck youself! worst popup ever!

  50. 50. Tim Buchheim Says:

I sent you €3.00 a few days ago. I’m glad to see that so many other people have also made donations!

  51. 51. kengantimd Says:

BTT is an ingenious tool that has completely redefined my Mac experience and maximized the utility of my Magic Mouse. I tell all serious Mac users about this awesome tool. I look forward to donating when you open up the offers again. Good luck with your studies. Apple should hire you….and pay you ALOT of money to make this tool built into Mac OS X 10.7 ….

  52. 52. Luke Says:

without BTT, the magic mouse is a hunk a junk. Apple should pay you vast amounts of money to use your software on their lovely but very overpriced machines. They can definitely afford it. Stingy bastards.

Will donate in the new year!

  53. 53. jarkgoo Says:

I just want to find the donate button… : )

  54. 54. The Gizzle Says:

    Awesome, just Awesome.

Made my purchase of the magic mouse and magic track pad worth it.

I Thank you for this great app.

  55. 55. john ater Says:

Andreas, Thank you so much for an incredible program. I recently purchased a touchpad and Apple’s gestures were just too limited. You gave us an elegant solution. Please let us know when you can accept donations again. I really want to donate. Thanks again.

  56. 56. Seth Geib Says:

I have been using this program ever since I got my macbook air and magic mouse a year ago, and I love it. It also makes a great addition to Synergy KVM for key mapping when I am on my PC server connecting to my mac client. I wish I could add custom keystrokes or macros though. Also the function key is not mappable, which is irritating. Happy to donate anyway! Keep up the great work.

  57. 57. Kevin Collins Says:

Using my macbook without BTT just seems wrong now; thanks for all your hard work. Do you accept Bitcoin donations? (for more info see http://www.bitcoin.org)

  58. 58. Vito Traino Says:

    Andreas,

Thank you so much for your time and effort. I simply cannot use a Mac without BTT. I would not have paid for this app from a commercial company, but seeing as you do all your work so generously for the public without charge, I am more than happy to donate.

Your software is invaluable. Thank you.

  59. 59. Donald Perreault Says:

I purchased BetterSnap as suggested to help continue development of BTT.

Wish BTT would display your keystrokes in a little window similar to the Volume up & Down window like PinPoint does. Would be a nice feature.

    Keep up the great work…

  60. 60. Andreas Hegenberg Says:

@Donald thanks! Good idea, I think I’ll implement this :-)

  61. 61. Hemanth Says:

    Hi,

I wanted to buy the Better Snap in the appstore as you requested, but what I need is BTT and NOT better snap.

So donating for the awesome tool. Thanks a lot for your effort.

  62. 62. Christoph Says:

    Hi Andreas,

Dafür Spendet man gerne, mach weiter so!

BTT is by far the best tool available for MAC – a must have. Solves the issue of Lion with not having a forward/backward gesture in Finder & Co. Makes my Mac a lot more efficient. Great work, keep it up!

    Grüße/Cheers
    Chris

  63. 63. Michael Says:

    A must have.
Had it installed on my iMac with a magic mouse, but didn’t use it all that much. But now my new MacBookPro… that is a complete other story.
    I love it. Thanks :)

  64. 64. Andrei Says:

Great tool, many thanks! Works wonderful, easily brings back the four finger application switching in lion!

  65. 65. Kai Says:

I’d like to donate sth too… do you prefer a PayPal donation or if your app is bought at Apples AppStore?

  66. 66. Steven Says:

BTT is the stroke of innovation for Mac UI that Apple has thus far not figured out or deployed.

  67. 67. Adi Himpson Says:

I just wanted to say that I was more than happy to donate for BTT, as it is a brilliant piece of software that I would happily have paid for. Thanks so much for your hard work in making (and keeping up to date) such a great utility :D

  68. 68. Bob Ralian Says:

Hey, I really love BTT and want to thank you for your time creating it. For me, it’s all about using the same gestures in all browsers to navigate forward and back, to switch between tabs, and to jump to the top and bottom of the page. These work best as three-finger-swipe-left/right, command-three-finger-swipe-left/right, and three-finger-swipe-up/down, respectively. Unfortunately these gestures aren’t working right now on all browsers, so I need to have different gestures on different browsers, or use two-finger-swipe, which gets mixed up with scrolling. Anyways, please consider my small donation as a vote for focusing on getting these three-finger-swipe actions to work consistently across browser on OSX Lion. Thanks!

  69. 69. adam Says:

YOU SAVED MY LIFE. Seriously, I was ready to go and gorge Steve Jobs’ eye balls out because of this stupid gesture revamping for Lion. It really F’d up my work flow and my techniques at being productive using gestures. Your software has completely restored my Snow Leopard gestures and I’m back at full speed on my track pad. THANK YOU!!!! I’m donating after I hit submit comment.

  70. 70. Frieder Says:

    Hey Andreas,

  71. 71. Ronin Says:

i´d like to doate but i live in Mexico and do not have a credit card, how could i donate?

  72. 72. Fabrizio Says:

    Hi Andreas.

I have just happily donated. I was laughing when Apple was announcing Lion a few months ago with “a lot of fantastic new gestures”…. I was thinking: “I have already got all of these new gestures – and even more – thanks to BTT!!!!”. Please keep up the great job!
P.S>: I have updated to Lion, anyway!

  73. 73. Steve Says:

Hi Andreas, greatest tool ever, I use it all day… in fact it’s the reason I switched from PC to mac. One minor suggestion/request – when I “minimize all”, the better touch tool icon shows up in the dock, even though I have “show dock icon” disabled, and then it never goes away again until I close/restart the app, so it would be nice if that disappeared forever (it’s accessible in the top bar)
    -thanks-

  74. 74. Giraldo Says:

This is an amazing app, and has made my Mac experience REQUIRE BetterTouchTool. Love it.

  75. 75. Savvy Says:

Many many thanks.. If u didnt make this i would sell my macs and buy Windows machine..

  76. 76. Thorsten Says:

BTT lets the lion roar! Thank you so much for your great great work!

  77. 77. Robert Griffith Says:

Just moved to Lion from Leopard. This is BY FAR one of the most useful utilities I have found for Lion!

I hope the nearly $50 Donation will help encourage you to keep up this project.

    Thanks VERY MUCH!!!

  78. 78. Andreas Hegenberg Says:

    @Robert thanks a LOT!! :-)

  79. 79. namenlos78 Says:

Vielen Dank für die ganze Arbeit, Zeit und Energie die du in deine Projekte steckst – insbesondere BTT.Fühl dich lieb gegrüßt!

  80. 80. h. adam steinberg Says:

So hoping Apple buys you out for 1 million dollars!!! the MagicTrackPad is the greatest tool BUT only with your BTT software, not Apple’s craptastic attempt.

  81. 81. Nago Says:

Any way of contributing for us poor students? Ad-clicking? something?
I too wish Apple buys this and makes you rich :P

  82. 82. ????? Says:

    ??Touch Tools ???????????????????

  83. 83. fdu Says:

Thank you Andreas. Works great on Lion (10.7.1)! I hope the donation goes a long way, even with the awful USD/EU exchange rate at the moment. :)

  84. 84. Robert Says:

I will gladly donate if I don’t have to create a PayPal account.

  85. 85. mimi Says:

Hi, BTT is absolutely great. I’m glad I could donate for such a useful app. Works great in Digital Performer. I used to use a Logitech MXR Revolution with all its buttons, but now with the Magic Mouse, it’s pretty silent and works great, plus I can get rid of their instable software. Thanks !

  86. 86. Mike Says:

Glad to donate been using this product with my Magic Mouse for quite some time and now I bought a Magic Trackpad. Could not live without it and is the reason I bought both of the devices. Thx.

  87. 87. Arsalan Says:

I just downloaded SecondBar, and have only been using it for a few minutes but love it! It says it’s supported only on Leopard, but works fine on Lion so far. I’ve tried tweaks and tricks to get the menu bar to show up on a different window, but to no avail.

One request, if possible. Instead of having it as SecondBar, why not MultiBar? Several screens.

  88. 88. Nick Says:

    Hello,
A post on a blog led me to your site and they said BTT supported the unix like Alt + Left click for moving and Alt + right click for resizing like on typical linux and unix windows managers. I installed your app(on lion) but I did not see exactly that option. I want to have to click the correct mouse button for the corresponding action, not key combinations. I would gladly donate more for this feature as I go back and forth between OSX and linux several times a day and working on OSX without this gives me a headache. Please tell me you support it?
    Thanks!

  89. 89. Jon Says:

Finally with your software I like Lion. Not only did it restore the swipes I missed, it opened up many more possibilities. Love it and glad to contribute!

  90. 90. Oisin Says:

Donated 20Euro for SecondBar because it works, it greatly increases the usability of a second monitor and I really appreciate your effort.

    Many thanks!

  91. 91. John Cooper Says:

Is there a non-PayPal method of payment? I’d like to donate for BetterTouchTool, but I will never use PayPal. Have you considered Kagi? Or can you put BetterTouchTool on the App Store? If not, I’ll just buy BetterSnapTool thru the App Store, so you can have that money.
    Cheers, and thanks very much.

  92. 92. Andreas Hegenberg Says:

@John thanks a lot for considering a donation. I don’t want to make things more complicated so I decided to stick only with PayPal but I’m also very happy if people just buy BetterSnapTool from the store. (So it stays high in the charts which causes even more people to buy it :-) )

  93. 93. Jaume Says:

I suggest you to allow also flattr micro-donations

  94. 94. megu-o Says:

Probably, BTT Sleep problem was fixed.
    And small donate again.
Thank you Andreas and great job.

  95. 95. Carlos Says:

Thank you so much for a great piece of software. Very useful. Will donate.

  96. 96. pedz Says:

    Thank you and happy Thanksgiving.

  97. 97. Ricardo Says:

    Hello!!!!!

Really THANKS! mac wouldn´t be the same without BTT, i would like to donate you but, maybe is to much to ask, is there any other way without using PayPal?, I don´t use them since the boycott to WikiLeaks.

    Have a nice day!
    Ricardo Rama

  98. 98. Dan Says:

This app is so excellent. I often make presentations or trainings in front of many customers and they comment on “how did you just do that?”. I’ve told many people about this app. Thank you so much and I hope the sandbox issues don’t cause too much distress.

  99. 99. Arun Says:

Fantastic tool. The only thing I missed about windows 7 was the snap to edge feature, and I can’t believe you threw that in there along with all the gesture magic. Pleasure to donate!

  100. 100. luca Says:

    donation sent ;)
really a great work! go on this way.

  101. 101. surfimp Says:

Thank you… Lion is OK out of box, but this makes it great. Thank you! Donation sent.

  102. 102. Carlos Says:

This is my second time donating. Thank you very much for writing this piece of software. I donated the second time because as I’ve become more proficient in using all the gestures I come to see how it enhances my experience and makes me more efficient.

Keep the great work!!! Apple should hire you

  103. 103. Andreas Hegenberg Says:

    @Carlos thanks a lot!!!

  104. 104. Jeroen Belgium Says:

this program is VERY useful. can I donate trough itunes, if possible ?

  105. 105. Ehsan Says:

Thank you very much for this master piece… BTT is half of Lion (the part that I like- but it’s missing in Snow leopard) plus another half that still apple has to work on!

  106. 106. Dustin Says:

First time i have ever paid for software in the 12 years i have been using the computer. Thanks.

  107. 107. Malte Says:

Sorry for donating not much but I just wastet a lot of money on that damn trackpad and mouse. Both are fully useful only after installing your tool. Thank you for what apple couldn’t do themselves! Works great and you deserve the “credit”.

  108. 108. Lee Says:

Donation sent. I just put a new HD in my MacBook Pro, and I was lost for the 1 minute I used it before installing BTT!!

  109. 109. Tomer Says:

Thank you for giving me a better Macbook experience!
Donation was sent! keep up the great work
Can’t use the computer without it.. and finding it very difficult to navigate on friends computers :)

  110. 110. Dado69 Says:

Thanks for developing this application. Very happy to donate my little contribute for further development.

  111. 111. Mimsyborogove923 Says:

You my friend, are an incredible human being. This is an AMAZING tool. I’m not ashamed to say it, I love you.

  112. 112. Magrathean Says:

Thanks for this terrific addition to Mac use. I have been using bettertouch(and snap) for a while now. I work in CAD and the three-finger-click -> middleclick drag is something I really appreciate.

Thanks again for making the mac trackpad bigger than keyboard (coming from a keyboard junkie!)

  113. 113. Jackson Says:

I cannot express how much value I have gotten from BetterTouchTool. I am constantly finding ways it makes using my Mac so efficient and ergonomic and its power to customize the keyboard is also very useful. Just today I used it to make a better forward delete (shift-delete) than the standard fn-delete on my wireless keyboard.

My favorite trick is that with a little tweaking of the advanced settings I was able to get global zoom to work very smoothly by pinching in and out with the exact sensitivity I prefer.

Thank you so much for creating such an invaluable tool. It has transformed the way I use my computer and when I have to use other computers it is like going from a high performance sports car to a rusty unicycle with a flat tire.

  114. 114. iaian7 Says:

BetterTouchTool is a crucial utility for every mac I own – both with and without touch inputs. Mouse customisation, window management (being able to hold keys to resize windows without click! Yes!), and so much more.

    Thank you!

  115. 115. Richard Says:

the Mac is by far so much better when you have BTT. Thank’s so much for your efforts!

  116. 116. dalson Says:

Do you accept Bitcoin donations? Thank you.

  117. 117. Lee Says:

BTT has enabled me to use a super cool computer and OS in a very amazing way! It is allowing me to my creative work in a way that I can forget that I’m using a computer.

  118. 118. Josh The Geek Says:

BTT is awesome! There is nothing awesomer than BTT because I can set up custom gestures, use my apple remote to do other things, use window snapping, and even set up a hotkey for just about anything I would ever need one for! (I’m running out of key combos for all the actions.) BTT is the only free thing out there that will let you add a global hot key to sleep the display.
I can barely use a Mac (or computer period) without my BTT config on it. Thank you so much for the awesome app!

  119. 119. Marcel Donges Says:

BTT is a great job! The configuration import and export is a nice feature.
Some people start to blog aubout sharing the configurations. Can I help you to provide a central configuration repository in some way? I can provide e.g. hosting capabilities

I personally also use 3D tools like Google SketchUp or Google Earth, blender and so on. I would love to see how other users of these tools use BTT…

  120. 120. Henri Kuschkowitz Says:

After using it for a year I have nothing but good things to say. Donation sent. Keep it up!

  121. 121. David Steiner Says:

Very, very useful tool. Part of my daily life. I wouldn’t think mac os x were that modern without it… Keep up the good work!

  122. 122. Tristan Says:

You saved my sanity after upgrading to Lion, thank you!

  123. 123. Reddy Says:

Hi friend! I ran across your utilities today and must say that they are EXACTLY what I have been looking for — especially the “Better Touch Tool.” Have you considered adding them to the Mac App Store? I am positive your utlities could help millions of Mac fans!

Also, thank you so much for making the utilities free, I am much more favorable to donating way more than I would pay for an app in the App Store since the devs that allow their apps to be free — in essence allow me to try the application, see if it fulfills my needs, and then reward the dev appropriately. That being said, I have a nice donation I’m about to send you! ;)

You seem to be very talented. I would love to speak to you about some development ideas. Please email me whenever you have time. Thanks again!

  124. 124. Ash Says:

These are 100% some of the best apps ever created for mac, i feel really bad i couldn’t donate more. why can’t u put them on the app store??

  125. 125. Joe R. Says:

Donation happily sent. This software makes using the Magic Trackpad a joy.

  126. 126. German Says:

    Hi!

BetterTouch is awesome. I’ve made a donation for the amount I will pay for the program :)

Can I suggest you to add MultiWindows actions?
For example Imagine you have 4 Firefox windows, I will like to be able to rearrange all the windows with just one gesture or shortcut. So far you’ve to do it manually for each of the windows.

    Thanks.

  127. 127. dunsmuirwill Says:

BTT is great. In less than a week, using it with my Apple Magic TrackPad has significantly eased the arthritis in my hands — a blessing since I am a professional writer!

Thank you for great software that works! I was more than happy to donate and will recommend BTT to anyone with a Magic TrackPad or Magic Mouse.

  128. 128. Michael Seneschal Says:

I haven’t read the comments above, so I’m sure I’ll repeat a lot (if not all) of what’s already been said. This is an amazing utility that it a must have. I personally hate the design and feel of Apple’s Magic Mouse and was thinking about getting a Logitech. Seriously, Logitech makes the best mouses (is mouses the correct way of saying it?… Meece… Mices…. Mouse-es). Anyway, the only reason I’m still using Apple’s Magic Mouse is because of this utility; the Magic Mouse will recognize different multi-touch gestures and this utility will then make it useful. I programmed it to launch mail with a 4-finger swipe up gesture. I hover over a word and with a 3-finger double tap on it, I get a dictioinary pop-up of the definition. There’s lots more useful stuff this will do. Put it on your system, make it useful, give the developer a monetary-thank-you.

  129. 129. Robert Alonso Says:

BTT has vastly improved OSX’s window management. It has made my macbook a joy to use. Thanks for sharing this and for your hard work!

  130. 130. Benjamin Stein Says:

Hey i use BTT for a long time now.
And all i can say i do love this tool! :)
i Donated today after the notice in the update.
Keep up the good work and thx a lot.

  131. 131. dan pritts Says:

fyi, i bought better snap tool from app store because i wanted to support better touch tool; saw the notice when i upgraded.

a “donate” link next to it would have been good; i’d have sent a few bucks directly to you without the middleman.

  132. 132. Andreas Hegenberg Says:

@dan, for me it’s better if people buy BST from the App Store because this way it stays in the charts :-) Thanks a lot!

  133. 133. Rod Vaughn Says:

Just got an update to BTT (thanks)With that update you requested we buy BST from the Apple Store. I don’t buy apps from the Apple Store and don’t particularly need BST but I wanted to definitely support you and BTT. I use it all the time, so I am donating here. Keep up the good work!

  134. 134. Jonathan Says:

Thanks Andreas. Greatly appreciate this app, and your fast response to my support email. Here’s a little something to yourself a beer, or what ever it is you like to drink! Cheers.
I also wrote up a small article on my best-mac-tips.com blog promoting your app http://best-mac-tips.com/2012/07/22/apple-remote-control-computer-browser/ (http://bit.ly/QokNdb)

    All the best…
    Jonathan

  135. 135. Duncan Thorne Says:

BTT looks to be a terrific program but I’ve had to uninstall it for now, after a brief trial. I installed it today after syncing a new magic mouse to my iMac, then found that the cursor had become jumpy when using my trackpad (with no BTT gestures added). After uninstalling, the problem went away.

I don’t recall the exact BTT release number but I had run the update, presumably to the latest version. I have a 24 inch Intel Core Duo iMac, Mac OS X (10.6.8), 2.8 GHz, 4GB ram.

    Regards,

    Duncan

  136. 136. Andreas Hegenberg Says:

@Duncan I haven’t been testing on 10.6.x for almost a year now… and I think I’ll drop support for it with the release of Mountain Lion. Sorry!

  137. 137. Anders Ingemann Says:

Your donation button doesn’t work for me!? All it does is send me to my account page…

  138. 138. Dirk Says:

    Vielen Dank!!!
Teste dein “Better Touch Tool” jetzt ausgiebig unter Mountain Lion.
Wenn´s rockt, folgt in den nächsten Tagen eine Spende! ;-)

  139. 139. Irum Says:

    Hi,

I’ve just donated – this is a great little app. Keep up the good work.

  140. 140. Lonny Eachus Says:

I would gladly BUY your Better Touch Tool for more than you’re selling Better Snap Tool, if only you would add the ability to change the height of corners as well as the width.

Until then, I might make a donation when I next get paid anyway (no promises), but I have found that having the windows in the same vertical positions all the time causes a streak on one of my monitors. So as it stands, I will either have to snap the windows to corners then adjust the height by hand, OR just do without Better Touch Tool.

If I had the ability to change the height as well as the width, I could vary it up and preserve my monitor.

  141. 141. Lonny Eachus Says:

I should add that I know this ability is in Better Snap Tool, but I have not found any information about how well (or even whether) Better Touch Tool and Better Snap Tool work together.

I don’t see the flexibility in defining gestures in Better Snap Tool that Better Touch Tool has.

  142. 142. lino Says:

    hej, i have a question.

where can i change the mouse acceleration.
i use a logitech mouse. but apples acceleration is sooo bad….

    can you help meee ?

where do i find it ?

  143. 143. Ben Says:

Thanks, I like it so much.

  144. 144. Atzik Says:

    You are amazing, thanks!

  145. 145. Slayersoft Says:

I’ve never donated money before. But your application is SO useful and I just feel compel to donate. Because you didn’t sell it, you give for free and that shows passion for what you do. I wish you the best and THANK YOU SO MUCH!

  146. 146. Igor Freiberger Says:

To make a donation is a question of justice as BTT made my workflow much better. Just after trying BTT I decided to purchase a Magic Mouse. Without your outstanding app, Apple piece fails to be ‘magic’. Thanks for developing such a great tool.

  147. 147. Enrique Ramirez Says:

This project deserves every penny it gets in donations. I just took a second to send you some money because of how infinitely awesome BetterTouchTool makes Spaces work. Without BTT I wouldn’t even bother with Spaces. THANKS!

  148. 148. Alex J Says:

Finally donated after having used this great tool for more than a year. Thank you very much! My favorite BTT feature is probably the simplest one: configured single tap on the Magic Mouse to trigger a click – now happily clicking silently :)

  149. 149. Rick Suzuki Says:

    Just wanted to say:

Beter touch tool and better snap tools are simply the best add-ons for mac that have ever been created.

I use both everyday, and cannot live without them, or if I did life would be miserable compared to when using these products. Friend’s computers who don’t have these products installed are really losing out and their computer feel like older products.

With BTT I will never go back to a mouse again

I will buy future products from here every time.

Keep up the good work and great products!!!!

  150. 150. Matt Says:

Thank you all soooo much for your work!!! I really appreciate all that you do to help us innovators out there. This tool saves me a ton of time everyday!! I really enjoy coming up with new uses for BTT and better snap tool as well. I just donated some money, its not much but its the best I can do for now (I have a hackintosh (w/thunderbolt) to pay for).

Let me know if you want some of the ideas i’ve come up with for unique uses of this tool. I was in medical school and found this tool incredibly helpful such as searching google all the time and the definition tool as well. I also use your tool with the PandaBar app to rate all my music that I always use when i’m studying.

    Keep up the great work
    Matt (in California)

  151. 151. Derek Says:

This app is seriously the most empowering tool I’ve ever used on a computer, thank you!

Apologies if I’ve overlooked something, but I can’t seem to get the apple remote to function inside BTT. The remote is paired and works fine for global media controls on my mac etc., but I can’t get it to launch any functions or applescripts with the any of the buttons (e.g., “Right, Holding” or just “Right”). I’ve read there may be a need for plugin, but scrubbed the web for the last 20 minutes with no success.. any feedback or help would be enormously appreciated.

Just an fyi, I’m using an app/utility called Musicality to stream my music with Grooveshark and Pandora, I’ve written a few scripts to add songs to my music library and favorites, etc. but can’t seem to get the remote to function for anything using BTT, in or outside of Musicality. Thanks again!

    Derek

  152. 152. Nathan Says:

Thanks a ton for developing Better Touch Tool! I just switched to Mac recently and became quickly frustrated with the inability to re-assign mouse buttons and keyboard shortcuts and the lack of window snapping. I’ve tried similar paid apps (HyperDock and Flexiglass, to name a few), but kept coming back to BTT. Logitech’s own control center didn’t even come close to BTT when it came to managing their own keyboards and mice. BTT just does MORE and it does it well. I’ve just donated and would gladly pay a fair price on the App store if you launched it there someday.

    Thanks again!
    Nathan (in Spain)
