- single finger tap right (magic)
- single finger tap left (magic)
this means you can set leftclick to the left half of the magic mouse and rightclick to the right half of the magic mouse - Mousespeed should now be saved even after restart
- Dragging will be supported soon
//edit 334 may have broken your three finger tap… should work again with 335
Download here (still use at your own risk)
These settings work quite good for me (for single and two finger tap):

Maybe you could change the “What computer are you using?” question to a checkbox saying “I am using a MacBook (Pro) with a Multi-Touch trackpad (Late 2008 or newer MacBook Pro, or a Late 2009 or newer MacBook)”
And I think it would be nice if you implemented the preferences in the System Preferences app…
November 18th, 2009 at 7:11 pm
@Douwe
btt will someday be integrated in the system prefs, but that has low priority to me atm (you can hide the icon in the preferences if you want)

@Andreas Hegenberg
Ah okay. Really like this tool btw
November 18th, 2009 at 7:24 pm
Wow! Just discovered BetterTouchTool and it’s fantastic! I don’t know how I used to work without this. I’m now doing so many things with simple gestures it’s amazing.
Sorry for the geek-out moment
Would it be possible to add actions that would simulate pressing the up and down arrow keys? It would be great to just tap on the Magic Mouse with two or three fingers to advance between messages in Mail.app, Blogs in NetNewsWire etc.
Thanks again!

Hi
I would like to show you how I think the UI would be great. It’s a kind of mix between Mouse and Keyboard pane prefs.
Here it is : http://j.mp/z893a
By the way i sent you an e-mail to know if you want to have some help
November 18th, 2009 at 7:37 pm
Oups, there is some shadow bugs, sorry ^^
November 18th, 2009 at 7:38 pm
Really Nice Update
Could you add move curve to allow reduce speed movement ( for the cursor ) ?
Lots of thanks for your nice work
November 18th, 2009 at 8:17 pm
@JegnuX
Thats the best i’ve seen so far.
@Ciego #10
I would vote (already voted) for the “Hold one finger on the mouse, then tap with another left or right from the holding finger”-gesture. It’s brilliant for switching Safari-Tabs (and finally i could use three finger swipes for Spaces)!
November 18th, 2009 at 8:23 pm
Really great updates. I would still like the MagicMousee left and right swipe ability to bring up the application switcher like I can do on my MacBook.
November 18th, 2009 at 8:48 pm
Can you add the gesture cmd+tab? It would be nice… thanks!
November 18th, 2009 at 9:02 pm
Is it possible to make a magic mouse gesture to open specific application, e.g. Photoshop with single finger tap right?
November 18th, 2009 at 9:06 pm
I love your work. I was not happy with the MM since I lost my middleclick. you have made the MM usable. Keep up the great work
November 18th, 2009 at 9:29 pm
Really appreciate you afford! Thank you very much!
You make my magic mouse really worth for HK$ 518 now!
November 18th, 2009 at 9:36 pm
Love the three finger click! I would really like if it would require all three fingers being near the front of the mouse for the three finger click though. I find I often accidentally initiate this due to touching the rear of the mouse with my palm.
Seems similar to the one and two finger tap settings– right now i can hold my thumb near the Apple logo, then two fingers to click, and this incorrectly actuates the three finger click mechanism.
Overall, this is great, keep up the good work!

Hi.
Ok, I’m still confused on setting Expose stuff up.
All I can get it to do is “show all windows”.
Anyone else mystified by the setup for different Expose/Spaces functions?
November 18th, 2009 at 9:51 pm
Thank you… Great work…. PERFECT

@TurbineSeaplane
I’ve successfully setup all 3 different Exposé functions, along with Spaces to different gestures. Instead of selecting Exposé from the right hand Key Command section try the F keys. (e.g F11 for Exposé Show Desktop, F10 for Exposé All Windows etc.)
November 18th, 2009 at 9:58 pm
@a’tris
As long as we’re speaking geek, how about adding a command to run an AppleScript? That would allow a gesture to activate a key or key combination easily (for a geek). It would also allow access to shell scripting.
November 18th, 2009 at 10:07 pm
Great Work! It changed my life!
3-4 finger tap goes well with swipes to open and change Spaces. I keep triggering it by accident though, so the ignore edges could be useful here (on Macbook Pro touch pad).
Also where’s the 4 finger tap option?
November 18th, 2009 at 10:13 pm
I’m triggering 3-finger tap after scrolling – I scroll using 2 fingers, but usually leave my thumb (#3) on the bottom of the touch pad. When I am done scrolling I lift all three fingers and that triggers the tap. Aside from a general fix for that, it would be handy to be able to set the timing threshold for taps. It’s good now, but a little loose. I’d like to be able to adjust the min and max time for all fingers to be down to trigger a tap.

@Jono:
Got it now. Thanks for your help!

Thank you for your work. Please bring for all the ArchiCAD-User (Graphisoft.com) a TWO-FINGER-KLICK for holy Middelklick (=Scrollwheelklick). In ArchiCAD absolute nessesary for navigation in drawing, layouts etc.

Hi, nice App, I’ve seen more improvements than yesterday, but I’ll stick with .328 version as a “NON magic mouse user”.
Where is the 4 finger click (and/or tap) to multitouch trackpad? ! Am I insulting you? Please, let me know, I’m sorry.
Thank you.
November 19th, 2009 at 1:22 am
Please add support for OSX 10.5.8 (Leopard). The application is already Universal so the only way for us PPC folk to use the app is to make it compatible with Leopard. Thanks!!
November 19th, 2009 at 2:46 am
For every 3d sofTware user! I just got the magic mouse but can’t use it since i’m using blender 9 hours a day and the middleclick is an absolute necessary
November 19th, 2009 at 2:51 am
@Ivan
You can do this in combination with Quicksilver (http://github.com/tiennou/blacktree-alchemy/downloads) Just open QS, select triggers, and then set a global rule in BetterTouchTool that matches the key command you selected in QS. Hope that helps!
November 19th, 2009 at 2:53 am
@Jim
I’ve never tried doing this before but the same process in QS that I outlined above for Ivan could be used to execute an Apple script. I’m not a cool enough geek to be able to write an applescript to press the arrow keys for me. If you have a moment, would you mind sharing one? Thanks!
November 19th, 2009 at 8:10 am
@Ian
@ArchiCAD-User
atm this is already possible but only with 3 finger click. Two finger click will be available soon.
November 19th, 2009 at 11:19 am
@Andreas Hegenberg
So what do you think of this http://j.mp/z893a ?
November 19th, 2009 at 4:02 pm
Fantastic app, but please please please put the magic mouse and touchpad only sections into separate tabs, as it is, scrolling through the list of magic mouse keyboard shortcuts to find the touchpad ones is confusing and time-consuming if you’re adding a lot of new shortcuts.
