this version may fix the one two and three finger taps, please try

download (on your own risk)

shall I implement something like “single finger tap on left part of the mouse” and the same for the right part? So you could set the rightclick to the right side of the mouse and the leftclick to the left side

    definitly YES! :D

  2. 2. AltieroSpinelli Says:

    i’ll try it immediatly , thank you.

  3. 3. Jono Says:

    Thanks!

    Every time I start the app (with every version of the app I’ve tried) it resets the mouse tracking speed back to 3. Please have a look at that when you get the chance :)

  4. 4. admin Says:

    @Jono
    yap will fix this later today

  5. 5. Jono Says:

    Excellent, thanks!

  6. 6. Brian Says:

    please add the single swipe up and down back to the app I really need it to disable vertical scrolling in Final Cut Pro the magic mouse is unusable in it otherwise.

  7. 7. Andreas Hegenberg Says:

    @Brian
    Hey Brian,
    what exactly do you mean? Shall I add the option to only allow one finger scrolling?
    A workaround atm for you would be to set a “fake” two finger up and a fake three finger up gesture, this disables the scrolling.

  8. 8. primalmotion Says:

    When do you think you can release the locked tap in order to drag without clicking the mouse ?

  9. 9. Andreas Hegenberg Says:

    @primalmotion
    haven’t looked at this yet but maybe tomorrow.

  10. 10. Brian Says:

    @Andreas Hegenberg
    On older version you had a just the swipe up and swipe down options I used these and put a – in the key command for just the final cut pro application. This allowed me to disable the vertical scrolling in FCP, but still allowed me to do horizontal scrolling.

    The Magic Mouse and final cut pro don’t get along with vertical scrolling with multicam edits. It’s impossible not to use.

  11. 11. Andreas Hegenberg Says:

    @Brian
    mhh they should still be there (two finger swipe up and two finger swipe down) aren’t they?

  12. 12. Brian Says:

    @Andreas Hegenberg
    I’ll give it a shot, but the issue I have it just the single finger scrolling. not 2

  13. 13. primalmotion Says:

    @Andreas Hegenberg
    You rock

  14. 14. Andreas Hegenberg Says:

    @Brian
    strange I don’t remember a function that could have stopped the one finger scrolling :-) (But I can add this as an option)

  15. 15. Brian Says:

    @Andreas Hegenberg It was called swipe up and swipe down so maybe it was the 2 finger and not just in there, either way if you can add it. I am sure you will make a ton of happy FCP users.

    Hello, I’m using this in conjunction with synergy and would love the ability to map seperate key commands for the secondary display (a windows desktop) any suggestions on how this could be accomplished?

  17. 17. doudouesig Says:

    If it’s possible it’s a good idea to separate the single finger tap on the left part of the mouse and the right part of the mouse! ;)

    Thank you very match for your job!
    Thanks to BetterTouchTool, I love using my magic mouse! ;-)

    great work! thank you for the sweet tool!

    is there any way to fix mac osx-mouse-acceleration like described here: http://db.tidbits.com/article/8893

    steermouse has some good acceleration tweaks included-

    that would be awesome!

    BTT webpage at MacUpdate.com says that it might work in OS X 10.5, but it obviously does not. Is there any chance to make this true? Thanks.

  21. 21. Douwe Says:

    Maybe you could change the “What computer are you using?” question to a checkbox saying “I am using a MacBook (Pro) with a Multi-Touch trackpad (Late 2008 or newer MacBook Pro, or a Late 2009 or newer MacBook)”

    And I think you should implement the preferences in the System Preferences app…

  22. 22. AppleMacGenius Says:

    Has anyone gotten the magic Mouse to work with a three click in spaces.. I so miss my middle button….

  23. 23. Cyxodus Says:

    Thanks for making this. When I tried the Magic Mouse, I sorely missed Expose. I even asked the Apple employee why it didn’t operate the same way as the trackpad.

    I use a laser gaming mouse and found MM’s tracking speed very slow. Could you bump up its speed to emulate that of a 2000 dpi mouse?

  24. 24. Schimy Says:

    Hi,

    the Tool is perfect, but that ….

    “shall I implement something like “single finger tap on left part of the mouse” and the same for the right part? So you could set the rightclick to the right side of the mouse and the leftclick to the left side”

  25. 25. Valmont Says:

    This looks very promising. I’ve been using a magic mouse since the first day they were available and overall love it. Unfortunately, I have had to turn momentum off in Photoshop and my CAD program as it constantly goes to far or where I don’t want it to go. Is there a way BTT could selectively turn options off/on for individual applications??

  26. 26. Cyxodus Says:

    @Valmont
    I use Photoshop also, so I second that.

  27. 27. Chaodam Says:

    It could be possible to add the way to assign a gesture + a key command ?
    Like Cmd + 2 fingers swipe to left

    It could be awesome !

    Hi, how do I set the Magic Mouse to do the following:
    I used to push the scroll button down on my Mighty Mouse to activate Application Switcher (Command-Tab)

    Thanks! This looks like a life-saver!

  29. 29. scottb Says:

    @scottb

    Do’h! I figured it out!
    This is WONDERFUL!!!!
    I was about to toss this thing out.

  30. 30. Aaron Meurer Says:

    4-finger swipes on MacBook Pro still do not work (they used to work, in some older version). By the way, could you put the version number somewhere in the preferences window? With all the updates, I forget which one I am running.

  31. 31. Andreas Hegenberg Says:

    @Aaron Meurer
    are you sure? Here the 4 finger swipes are working quite good. (you have to disable the original apple 4 finger swipes in the system preferences)

  32. 32. Aaron Meurer Says:

    @Andreas Hegenberg
    OK, I figured it out. I have to have “Activate three and four finger tap recognition” turned on. So I guess this is a bug.

  33. 33. Aaron Meurer Says:

    @Andreas Hegenberg
    Also, another thing (now that I got it to work). With three finger swipes, I can swipe back and forth in one stroke and it will work, but with four finger swipes, I have to remove my hand from the trackpad to go back and forth. Could you fix this? Sometimes I like to jump to a nearby space real quick to check something and then jump right back.

  34. 34. imo Says:

    @AppleMacGenius
    I too want a middle mouse click. cant get it working.

  35. 35. HJG Says:

    I would really like to replace the 1 Finger scrolling with a 2 Finger scrolling, like it is on the touchpad.

    I have a constant issue that I zoom or scroll (depending what app is in front) when moving or touching the mouse, so a 2 finger scrolling would be very very nice

  36. 36. Jay Says:

    What I’d love is just the ability to do a 3 finger tap for expose, and a 4 finger or some other variant for dashboard. What would be great is if this could be isolated JUST to magic mouse and the default MM settings are left unaffected. Basically, I’d like to just add a 3 and or 4 finger tap to what already exists.
