//edit: please use the previous version, because this one has a silly bug that should be fixed soon. If you want to use it, you have to restart it everytime you opened the preferences window in order to work properly.
This version introduces the first step into a new user interface… atm it just puts the “advanced” prefs in a separate tab but in future trackpad and magic mouse gestures etc will be in own tabs too.
I’m using this for the interface: http://www.mere-mortal-software.com/blog/details.php?d=2007-03-11 so thanks to Dave Batton!
Additionally you can now select parts of the surface that are ignored, atm they are just ignored for two finger tap and single finger tap but I’ll add this for everything.
//edit 0.33 => two finger tap shouldn’t be triggered after swiping anymore
//edit 0.331 => scrolling with more than one finger down allowed if no custom up / down gestures are set
Sorry download link removed because this version sucks
Please read the last few posts before using
Todo for tomorrow:
- make seperate swipe left / two finger swipe left and right for touchpad and magic mouse (atm they are the same)
- make seperate three finger click for magic mouse and touchpad
- scrolling behavior
- debug debug debug….
- add new features

Very nice interface!
great, now it’s possible to scroll keeping the fingers on the MM, thank you…;)
November 18th, 2009 at 12:12 am
@DiElle
mh I didn’t implement anything that could make it possible to scroll while more than one finger is on the MM, did I ?
November 18th, 2009 at 12:19 am
Wow! Looks great!
November 18th, 2009 at 12:20 am
strange, it’s working for few minutes, now it’s gone…
November 18th, 2009 at 12:22 am
@DiElle
hehe maybe you didn’t have a custom gesture for two finger or three finger swipes? As long as you don’t scrolling is available. But I’m working on making it available everytime… it’s just a bit tricky…
November 18th, 2009 at 12:30 am
As this is a configuration interface, wouldn’t it be better to put it in the system preferences?
November 18th, 2009 at 12:32 am
yeah maybe I’ll do this sometime.. for now (debugging etc) I like to access it fast via the menubar (you can hide the icon in the preferences if you want)
November 18th, 2009 at 12:37 am
ehehe
no i have custom gestures…but when i noticed that scrolling with fingers on was possible, the 3fingers click/middlecick stop working, but the swipe with 2/3 fingers working fine with expose etc…
now all is come back to normality ehehe
cheers

Yes DiElle, I had that happen to me as well.
Would it be possible to allow two finger scrolling if there are no custom up/down swipes? Because I use two finger left/right to change songs in iTunes and because of this two finger scrolling doesn’t work. I know that it has to be disabled because it may accidentally triggered if you have a custom swipe up/down, however having your middle finger on the mouse and swiping right/left with your index does not trigger the custom preference like it does when you swipe up/down.

Hi,
as I said before: really great work!
But I’m still missing two things:
First of all where’s that donation button, we’re asking for?
Second I’d like to see an option in order to disable three finger click on the trackpad but to maintain it on the Magic Mouse.
Greetings
Sien

@Alex
you are right I’ll make it available if no custom up / downs are set
@Sien
)
will make this available tomorrow. (not the donation button though
November 18th, 2009 at 12:58 am
@Alex
should be in 0.331
November 18th, 2009 at 1:00 am
Thanks! Appreciate all the work you’re putting into this.
November 18th, 2009 at 1:04 am
is there a way to save the settings for the set mousespeed???
November 18th, 2009 at 1:28 am
I am literally excited to follow this blog. Thank you very much.
thank you.

Here’s an interface I for a future UI that I just sent to Andreas:
http://injectiondesign.com/client/touchtool/TouchExtreme.jpg
Let me know what you think.
November 18th, 2009 at 2:13 am
Nice version, and the tab interface is great. I find though that the 2 fingered tap on the MM s only working ~ 1/20 times. And I think I have the ‘whole’ area of the MM active. How should the sliders be set if you want to maximize the sirface area and exclude nothing?
thanks
Tom

chan, the UI looks clean
November 18th, 2009 at 2:40 am
Will it have the two finger click for the magic mouse soon?
November 18th, 2009 at 3:11 am
I think that the new interface is almost perfect. Clean and easy to understand !
Just some separation between the Magic Mouse and the Trackpad gestures would help, but not in another tab (because we will need the same apps in both tabs)
I propose something like this, largely based on the actual interface :
http://img255.imageshack.us/img255/7824/btt0340.jpg
I think that this is easy to implement (since this is basically the same as the actual release) and that this have anything needed !
It could be the same width as the “Advanced” tab (we don’t really need much width anyway) and just a bit higher (maybe the same height as the advanced tab ?)
BTW, a two fingers click for the magic mouse would be usefull
Thanks for the great works !

Great application is just fantastic! My only suggestion is if it’s possible to create a toggle to hold the cmd button. I often work far from my monitor and it would be nice to be able to zoom in without having the hold cmd.

I truly want to thank the author of this amazing software, you totally reinvented the way I use my MBP, where’s the donation box??
(I also guess it’s the first time I suscribe to a developper’s blog rss feed!)
November 18th, 2009 at 4:45 am
how about a four-finger click?
November 18th, 2009 at 5:17 am
This is really a great application. It does help a lot for my workflow in MBP. I notice one thing, it looks like that two fingers swipe is actually doing 3 fingers swipe.
Thanks a lot for creating this cool application.
November 18th, 2009 at 5:58 am
Dunno if this has been brought up yet, but there’s *sort of* a way to get cmd+tab to work. Only problem is it just works as cmd+tab and doesn’t not bring up the application switcher.
You need to download this http://www.macupdate.com/info.php/id/16895 in order to quit dock.app. Then go to BTT prefs and enter the shortcut and reenable the dock.
I know this isn’t the answer, but it’s a minor solution for now.
November 18th, 2009 at 6:03 am
Also, has anyone else had problems with 3 finger click stop working?
November 18th, 2009 at 8:23 am
OK, sorry for the triple post, but it looks like 3 finger clicking stops working after I enter preferences. So it works when I relaunch BTT but as soon as I open preferences it stops.

Dear mr Admin
Is it possible to add a Gesture-Button-combination like Pressing cmd and make a Three-Finger-swipe will do something Else than a normal Three Finger swipe?
November 18th, 2009 at 8:55 am
I didnt read all the comments before, so i dont know if other people have the same problems.
For me the two finger click is not really working. Only 10-30 % of the taps are recognized, dont know why. The one and three finger tap is working very fine at all… Maybe there is a way to improve (the software or my handling
November 18th, 2009 at 9:07 am
Any chance of the “zoom in then zoom out” and vice versa gestures from MultiClutch getting implemented?
November 18th, 2009 at 9:25 am
Is there a way to set Command-Tab and Command-Shift-Tab for the four finger-swipe left and right?
November 18th, 2009 at 9:49 am
would also be necessary to be able to drag and drop with single tap, like trackpads.
Anyway, thank you again for your really really great work!
November 18th, 2009 at 10:13 am
Really like the new tabbed interface. I would also like to see a division between Magic Mouse and the Trackpad, like Maxime said. Another small thing that might add to the interface, add small icons of the applications in front of the name, with small I mean that the size of the rows stays the same.
November 18th, 2009 at 10:27 am
I just love the GUI proposed by Chan Karunamun (#16 – http://injectiondesign.com/client/touchtool/TouchExtreme.jpg )
November 18th, 2009 at 10:34 am
@Maxime
+1 for that interface idea, I like that.
November 18th, 2009 at 12:16 pm
Thank you very much for your efforts on this! Keep up the great work

I love this application, I really needed expose on my Magic Mouse. Thanks!
