so… I’m up for more than 24 hours now (thus I’m not very productive today
)
here a last version which should hinder the three finger tap from triggering (at least a bit) after executing a three finger swipe on the magic mouse.
Only for people who want to test. Use on your own risk, this is a total nightly build for productive use try 0.316/0.317)
//edit: okay this is now really the last
//reading your comments this version seems to work okay. Here again short summary of things this version does:
- fixes bug which caused global gestures to stop working
- middleclick behavior has changed (if you middleclick the click “holds” until you release your fingers from pressing). If you don’t want this behavior use cmd+click, it does basically the same like a middleclick
- fixed many little things.
- 3 finger click is working on the touchpad too (if you set the one for the magic mouse, atm there is no seperate one for the touchpad)
Today I’ll focus on this:
- Performance
- Better scrolling behavior of the magic mouse using BTT (do not disable 2&3 finger scrolling when swipes for the magic mouse are set)

Hey, new commands available for assignment, very nice

Can you add somehow application switcher? I asked it before, but havent seen any response
Idea is simple – 4swipe left – spaces, 4swipe right – app switcher.
Thanks!

basically you can add every shortcut you want (see howto in the documentation tab on this page)

Yeah not having much luck with the 3 button click and the mighty mouse with this one or the last. Any suggestions?

BTT now seems to works as it should- even with multiple applications and gestures defined. Thanks for bugfixing (right after your long weekend…)!
MagicMouse + BTT = awesome

It would be nice to add the application switcher!

I have reported a bug before but no reply. Please let me come up with it again.
I have an iMac with Magic Mouse. I have chosen Mac/Macbook without multitouch touchpad in BTT.
With this setup the scrolling is not working in the same way as without BTT installed. Without BTT and this choice I can scroll even if I have more than one fingers on the mouse. With BTT the scrolling only works only with one finger on the mouse. When I choose MacBook with multitouch touchpad this scrolling problem is go away, but I can’t use the MagicMouse gestures.
I would like to give you some clues. The version 0.322 had permanently solved this issue, but it came back with 0.324.
Could you please check if you could find the solution to this problem? It would be great!
Thank you in advance, and keep goin’! BTT is a very useful software!

Working pretty good at the moment. UMBP 17 + Magic Mouse. The gesture assignments translate over to Windows in Parallels, which is mildly problematic, but I think I’m going to try and assign gestures to Parallels and see what happens.

Hey, I have an idea I really would like to see implemented for the magic mouse, i’ve been thinking of doing it myself but probably you are way closer than I am
I use my magic mouse paired with a Mac Mini used as media center. Don’t know if you have ever grabbed your Magic Mouse as if it were a remote control (laser tracking face on the palm of your hand, thumb placed on top surface), it seems even more pleasant to hold than using it the regular way!
My idea was to somehow switch the 1 finger gesture into mouse tracking (making the surface work just like a trackpad), so you would hold the mouse that way, track and click with your thumb. Ok, that stripes of the scroll, but still it is a nice idea for using as a presenter or as media center remote!
Thanks for reading! Either implementing this or not, I would really like to hear your opinion regarding this idea!

The 3-finger swipes all work consistently well… But I find that the 2-finger up and down swipes often don’t work reliably. It often takes two or three attempts to get them to execute.
November 17th, 2009 at 8:19 am
In my opinion its better this way. It was disturbing that scrolling was executed when i only wanted to execute Exposé. Wether its a bug or a feature, i welcome it

@nszb
I agree, this needs to be fixed. Annoying to have to lift your finger every time you want to do a scroll.
November 17th, 2009 at 9:21 am
I think I shall now call it the Miracle Mouse – it’s more than just a party trick. Haha.
But yes, another idea. How about a two-finger swipe and hold. ie keep one finger still but scroll the other. my main thought was this would be a nice easy replacement for the rotate gesture, in addition to two finger scroll for a zoom gesture.
November 17th, 2009 at 9:38 am
I would looove to see to see the following gesture:
Hold (don’t click) one finger on the mouse, then tap with another finger left or right from the holding finger. Would be nice for switching through safari tab.
November 17th, 2009 at 10:29 am
First thanks for your work man ! My mouse is not the same !!! Also, I would like to know if you can add a 90° rotation option. I want to use my magic mouse like a trackpad.
November 17th, 2009 at 11:37 am

November 17th, 2009 at 11:54 am

unibody macbook with multitouch touchpad: three finger swipe doesn’t work any more with 0.324
three finger click workst indeed
November 17th, 2009 at 1:04 pm
@horst
tried to uncheck the three finger checkbox in the trackpad-prefpane. still doesn’t work
but after re-checking the checkbox, it finally works again! jipieee
November 17th, 2009 at 1:26 pm
after trying out the 3 finger click on trackpad, rotate and all 3 finger swipe gesture stop working.
November 17th, 2009 at 1:34 pm
@jpma this is not due to the 3 finger click (I think) but has happened sometimes before (not very often). I think it is a apple bug (and it gets triggered through things btt does…), the only solution for me was to restart my macbook after this happened to me. I have a solution for this problem which will be added this week (it’s a bit complicated)
November 17th, 2009 at 1:48 pm
I restarted my macbook pro just now, didn’t work. just jump back to 0.324
November 17th, 2009 at 2:14 pm
I just jump back to 0.324 for 3 finger swipe on trackpad (.325 does not work in unibody macbook with multitouch touchpad)
November 17th, 2009 at 2:16 pm
will be fixed soon
November 17th, 2009 at 2:18 pm
… I can not assign cmd-tab as a Key Command, switch applications windows appear.

Thanks my friend !

This app is so freakin’ GREAT! I was visiting your blog to find a “Donate” button but it just isn’t there. You should really put a donate button on your site. I’ll be the first to donate.
Your app is everything the Magic Mouse driver lacks: gesture control! So cool. And you fixed the three finger click bug in this release.
In the previous release I could open a link in FF with three finger click to a new Tab, but couldn’t close a tab by three-finger-clicking on it. Now I can!
I should be a really great feature if you could also implement the pitching for Magic Mouse users.
November 17th, 2009 at 2:21 pm
swipes should work again
I don’t want donations (at least not yet
)

.326 works great !! Thank you!
