Hi,

I got a few e-mails since the release of 0.78 about the window moving shortcuts not working like they did before.
In case you’ve got the same problem (the shortcuts move the window under the cursor instead the focused window) you can easily fix this yourself: go to Action Settings => Window Moving & Resizing, and check “Focused Window” there.

Interesting you should post this. I was about to make a feature request concerning this very feature.

I just got a retina MacBook Pro. As you may know, this Mac can power up to three external displays with its HDMI port and two Mini DisplayPorts. I have Control + three finger swipe left/right mapped to move window to next monitor. This just cycles through the monitors. What I would like to be able to do is to have Control + three finger left swipe only move a window left and Control + three finger right swipe only move a window right.

So for example, I have two monitors on either side of my Mac. If I have a window on my Mac display, and I do control left three finger swipe, I want it to go to the monitor to the left of my Mac. If I do that same swipe again, I want it to do nothing. If I do a control right three finger swipe, I want it to go to the right (back to my Mac screen). And of course, visa versa for the other monitor.

Any chance you could add this? I suppose you could just use the system preferences monitor arrangement and add commands like move to next monitor left, and so on. Either that, or have some way to configure it manually from within BTT.

I purchased the BetterSnapTool to support your excellent work! Thanks again!

I have an idea for new gestures

In Mountain Lion there is a new gesture for the notificationbar: two finger slide in from the right side of the touchpad.

You could add this feature from the other directions. (maybe with 3 fingers too)

There is an annoying bug in 0.78

Every time BTT starts, it always asks “Do you want BetterTouchTool to check for crashreports on every start? (those can be sent to me so I can improve BTT)” whenever the option is unchecked.

Ah sorry, that only happens with the download version I uploaded yesterday… (not for the version that was distributed via autoupdate). Please redownload it.

    Hi Andreas,
I have a different window-moving/resizing “bug”. I’ve just gotten a RetinaBook too, although I’m not sure it’s relevant. However, in order to get the best Retina experience, I’ve been using the Firefox Nightly builds. This version of Firefox calls itself “Nightly”.

FWIW, BTT does tell me that Nightly might be incompatible, but it really seems fine. The only problem is that Nightly refuses to be moved or resized with my gesture (Fn+ctrl for moving, Fn+option for resizing). Windows for all other apps are fine.

Not sure if it’s a problem with how BTT is trying to identify the app or… something? Grasping at straws here ;)

Minor issue, BTT is still one of my favourite things on the planet. Shortly upgrading to Mountain Lion, fingers crossed it goes smoothly!
    Peter
