ATM I’m trying to create new gestures that can be used with the magic mouse. Unfortunately it is not easy to create gestures that are not always triggered accidentally.
Here a version of BetterTouchTool which has a very early version of a new gesture included (If you don’t want to test a maybe buggy version stay with 0.27!!)
Download 0.281 Gesture Preview
The gesture works as described here (in the GUI you have to select “two finger tap” to assign shortcuts to this gesture):
- Tap with one finger (and continue touching)
- Shortly after this tap with the other finger and leave both fingers down until the gesture triggers
ATM this triggers sometimes if I want to scroll and I have to find out how to make resting the second finger on the mouse possible, but I think I can get that working perfectly.
//edit just updatet the version… just download again if you already got it
//edit: there is a bug in BTT which causes it to stop working after awaking from sleep / deep sleep. Will fix that soon.
//edit: I think in 0.281 the gesture works pretty good

I tried running 27 and 28 on Snow Lep 10.6.1 on a mac pro, but did so prior to installing the magicmouse and software update. Is it supposed to run the program interface anyway? Nothing happened when clicking on either 27 or 28 app.

I’m sure this is a long shot, but is there any chance you add circular scrolling? It was a feature advertised with the first multitouch trackpads ages ago, but it worked like an iPod scroll wheel when you put two fingers on the trackpad. Made working in huge source code files or manuscripts so much nicer.

Pardon me, I meant to post that question about BetterTouchTool

Sweet, I love how often you are updating the app. I have your RSS feed set up so that it will notify me whenever you update your site! Keep up the awesome work!

And I think that this same gesture with three fingers (tapped quickly in succession) could be an useful gesture as well.
