//edit: I just implemented two new features that got possible due to the apple trackpad update. You may have noticed that the tipswipes move the cursor since the update. This is annoying on the one hand but it can be useful on the other hand. The next version of BTT will let you move windows without grabbing them at the top by using the tip swipes.
A other thing that is possible now: gestures can now require the trackpad / magic mouse to be clicked. So e.g. tiptaps that only trigger with clicked trackpad would be possible or a three finger swipe could do different things depending on the state of the trackpad (clicked or not)
Both of those features need to be polished a bit but maybe I’ll be able to release an alpha tomorrow evening.

    trying to update, but can’t open the BTT window using Ctrl-Optn-Cmd-O or the prefpane, and i don’t have the icon up the top, so I can’t close it. killed it using Activity Monitor, but there seems to be something wrong with your preferences window :(

    @m3rih: I have the actions
    Three finger click: ^Space (quicksilver trigger)
    and
    Three finger tap: option Space (Trampoline via quicksilver)

    and they’re both working fine for me on
    both the Magic Mouse and Magic Trackpad at
    once now. I don’t have a built-in trackpad,
    since I’m not using a laptop, so I can’t try that.

    i won’t be using this application with my magic trackpad because this is the worst website i’ve ever seen which is trying to promote an application- its impossible to find anything out!
    you guys need to re-think this right away!

    @sam sorry currently I don’t have time for that (I know the documentation is lacking many things but I really don’t have the time to complete it currently). Maybe I’ll change that in a few months. Looking at the number of downloads and reviews it works quite well though.

    i think you need to rethink bagging Andreas’ hard work. he only works on BTT in his free time.

    by not using it, you miss out on what should be native functionality that Apple needs to implement. BetterTouchTool is freakin genius. so bad luck for you.

    The site is a hell of a lot better than a lot of websites i’ve seen for other apps.

    please don’t ever stop working on BTT, i think my productivity would go out the window. my friend has a 13″ MBP which i use sometimes, and i attempt to use my gestures on his because they are so second nature now (:

    this update fixed most of the bugs i’ve had since Apple’s update. only tipswipes are still moving the mouse which youre probably aware of.. and also Five Finger Swipes are moving the mouse.

    re toptaps: at least with use whole top area set,
    my actions for left, middle, and top tap (leftclick, middleclick, rightclick) are working fine for me on the MT. Not sure under what circumstances the problem might be seen, but I must not be running into it.

    wishlist:
    two finger swipe up/down with modifier (other than control, which is zoom) for (Magic) touchpad.
    Wanting to map that with cmd modifier to Home/End (or cmd up/cmd down) and with option modifier to page up/page down (or option up/option down), typically to quickly scroll to top or bottom of page,
    or to scroll faster than usual.

    If anything, the update broke the new 3-finger-dragging gesture that we got from the Apple update. When BTT is enabled, it won’t work at all, but when I switch the three finger function to swipe in the official Trackpad preference pane, that funtion will work just fine. If I disable BTT, the official three-finger-dragging works just fine.

    Please fix BTT so I can use the official three-finger-window-dragging and BTT at the same time.

    @ Mr. Grid known issue, maybe I’ll be able to activate it somewhen but maybe not. For now I recommend using the three finger dragging or using BTT.

    @Mr. Grid sure, http://download.boastr.net/?version=586 was the last. But there many other gestures will not work very well with the new apple trackpad driver.

    Thanks! I was mainly using BTT for the great extra gestures with my Magic Mouse, Trackpad is fine as it is. Now I won’t have to enable/disable all the time. Thanks and keep up the great work!

    I would like to report that, the 3 fingers dragging on magic trackpad is not working since i open BTT, I would be nice if i can use BTT and 3 fingers dragging at the same time.

    This update somehow broke the three and four finger click for me. Also tried the alternate cmd click mode, but didn’t help.
    MacBookPro 4,1 Early 2008 (A1261; last non-unibody) – no apple trackpad update
    Can I hope for a fix ?

    @Mark, it was smae here. Here is the solution (it worked for me) : uninstall btt with all traces by cleanapp or so then install again.

    @Andreas, I have updated to 0.598, but I am still having some problems.
    I do have the apple trackpad update installed and I am using Macbook Pro (2008) trackpad.
    With this version everything works fine, except for:
    1. 3/4/5 finger clicks (as in 0.596)
    2. TipSwipe would move the cursor about 98% of the time

    I have tried a clean install (Used AppZapper to delete everything associated with BTT, and then downloaded a fresh copy)

    Also, I thought I would let you know, according to http://support.apple.com/kb/ht4254, I don’t have 3 finger dragging on my MacBook Pro early 2008. But I do have inertial scrolling.

    I just want to say thank you so much for this program. The only thing i was looking for was to customize my trackpad to close window using certain gesture. Having found this program, i realized this can do so much more than that. Thank you so much!

    This program you have made is absolute genius! Every little power user suggestion I have thought of so far (while away from the computer and assuming it wouldn’t be in there) has turned out to already been in there once I looked for it.

    Hello, Mr. Hegenberg. I realize this is kind of off-topic, but I’ve been using BTT with my Magic Mouse just about since I got it, and there’s only one thing I have any complaints about. The Dashboard action only opens Dashboard, and to close it again I have to click in the background with left- or right-click (I use single-finger middle-click to activate Dashboard). I was wondering if you could update the action so that it becomes show/hide Dashboard, rather than just show. Thanks.
