- fixes bug with window moving stuff. Should now work again with every gesture (but for the magic mouse three finger touch at the very top and two finger touch at the very top are recommended (tiptaps should also work pretty good), for the touchpad you should use the modifierkey solution atm…)
- apps should now be sorted alphabetically (global is always on top)
- may fix problem with leftclick action in spaces / expose

Could be me, but using the latest version (shows 0.5146 in the lower right corner) Two Finger TipTaps don’t seem to work anymore…

@Douwe, mhh they work here. Are they recognized in live view? Which action have you set to them?

Working again, strange…

The window moving/resizing is very buggy, and there is no way to turn it off! The only way I figured out to do it is to disable all the checkmarks. There should be one checkmark at the top to disable the whole thing.
Anyway, it needs more options, like what modifier keys to use, and the ability to only work with so many fingers (I would like to activate it with three fingers).

@Aaron could you post what bugs you encountered, so I can fix it? You could already use it with three finger tap, but then it will move until you hit 3 finger tap again
Mh and moving should stop if you uncheck the one box “move windows while holding”, ok the resizing is an other checkbox but did you have to do anything else to deactivate it?

January 25th, 2010 at 11:26 pm
January 25th, 2010 at 11:29 pm
Touchpad:

January 25th, 2010 at 11:34 pm
Wow, I just tried the new version and it’s great. I love the 2/3 finger tap at the very top to move or resize windows.
January 25th, 2010 at 11:38 pm
@Johny try 0.5147
January 25th, 2010 at 11:41 pm
@Andreas: I don’t see that option anywhere.
And if you want, I can send you the crash reports. Would you rather me email them somewhere or that I post them in the forum?
Also, enabling the fn option cause my fn key to lock up, but it could be related to me having my fn key remapped to control using Remap4MacBook, since I have independently had that same bug before.

Oh, and I guess you are right about the checkboxes, but it is a little unclear. I would expect the on-off check boxes to be at the top and for the relevant controls to dim when they are turned off.

@Aaron you can mail them to bettertouchtool@boastr.net thank you!

Ah and regarding the fn lockup – I only read the state of the key (using NSEvents modifierFlags), so this can’t be directly related to BTT.

Hi Andreas,
I set a three-finger click to be a middle-click so that I could open new tabs in Firefox/Safari/Chrome without having to hold command. So far, this has worked, but only after 2 middle clicks. I will put my mouse over the link and do a three-finger click, but nothing will happen. Then I’ll move the mouse a bit and do another three-finger click, and a new tab will open. This is true across all the browsers, so I’m pretty sure it has something to do with BTT.
Also, I’m using tip tap left and tip tap right for tab switching in Firefox and NetNewsWire. In both applications, as with the three-finger click, I have to do 2 tip taps before the gesture is recognized. After the software recognizes the gesture, however, I can do any number of tip taps in a row and the software will register each one. As soon as I do any other gesture, the software reverts to the default requirement, making me do a gesture twice.
Hope you can look into this,
Ethan

@ethan could you check if instead of using middleclick, cmd+click works everytime for opening tabs? Also try the current alpha 0.5147 as it may be able to fix the middleclick problem.
(the problem is caused by a program that uses the same techniques for fetching clicks as BTT and so conflicts…)
For tiptaps, maybe you are too fast the first time? You have to wait a little before touching the mouse with the second finger)

Guess I posted too soon, alpha 0.5147 fixed these issues. Thanks!

I have a problem that’s really bugging me. I use TipTap left/right for volume up/down respectively. And they are really really easy to trigger. I have one finger on the left/right side of the mouse and the other one doesnt even touch it, it just like hovers above the mouse and the volume goes down. I have the TipTap senstivity already all the way to Hard Touch, but it doesn’t help. And I think I have the same problem with the Two finger tiptap, but it doen’t happen as often.

@bobby OH I see the error (the slider value isn’t used at all atm) will fix it.

Hey Andreas, I also have a very strange bug with Fn occurring sometimes.
I have set as global actions for my mbp touchpad ’3-fingers swipe up’ for cmd+W and Fn+’3-fingers swipe up’ for cmd+Q. but sometimes (not always) in Safari (and Safari only) the gesture without Fn triggers cmd+Q anyway – I can notice it easily since I am using cmd+W shortcut to close tabs and if 2+ tabs are open, cmd+Q by default displays a warning pop-up.
Thanks for your help, hope my message is clear enough

@pwetpwet could you send me a export of your gestures to bettertouchtool@boastr.net? I’ll then check whats going on.
